About

I’m a developer based in London, with a background in education, journalism and web development. I build small, fast, accessible web apps, including internal-facing dashboards and reporting tools backed by databases and APIs.

Projects

  • Machine Octopus

An online marketplace for pre-owned industrial machinery from established German brokers — over 5,400 machines across 30+ categories. Machines that might otherwise be scrapped to make way for newer equipment are given a second life, helping to reduce waste and support the circular-economy. I also built the site’s CMS — a React app the team uses to write, translate and publish its machinery articles.

  • Grammatrek

Free German grammar practice app, focusing on the most difficult bits (well, for me anyway): der/die/das/den/dem etc and the four cases. Short drills, instant feedback, no online account needed. Built mobile-first — laid out for one-thumb use on a phone — and installable as a PWA: add it to your home screen and it runs full-screen and offline, no app store.

  • NGCI Beers

A community-built directory of beer made with no gluten-containing ingredients — the kind that’s genuinely safe for coeliacs, not barley beer with the gluten enzyme-treated out. An interactive map of verified breweries and venues across a dozen-plus countries.
